Stojnic reveals why he doesn’t want to fight Perak!

April 26th, 2013

One of the best MMA fighters in the region and former UFC member, Denis Stojnic, has spoken about his future career plans, which include participating at the Final Fight Championship events.

Anticipating the news of who will be his opponent at the upcoming FFC 4 in Zadar early this May, many have hoped that he would face Maro Perak, but it has turned out that there is no chance of that happening for this occasion.

Stojnic has for a while now been announcing his return to the world's best MMA organization. "If I want to have another fight in the UFC, I must beat Mustafa al Turk, Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski, Jeff Monson or Mirko Filipovic. The fight with Cro Cop is definitely off. That's his decision and for me that's the end of the story. So, there are three fighters remaining that can be my stepping stone to the world's best organization," Denis said.

"I'm constantly in contact with Orsat Zovko. He knows which opponents I would like and now it's up to him. I really don't want to fight against some people who are way below my league. I just want a fight that could bring me closer to returning to the UFC. I don't care about anything else. If any fighter from the region wants to fight me, he'll be only able to do that if we meet by some chance in the UFC," Stojnic stated.

It seems that the fighter from Bosnia and Herzegovina could be changing clubs, moving from Golden Glory to pursue his further career as member of the respected Mike's Gym. "I'm close to leaving Golden Glory. I've been invited to move to Mike's Gym where my colleagues Alistair Overeem, Gokhan Saki, Melvin Manhoef and Badr Hari train now. Those are definitely the fighters I want to train and spar with. I've made a lot of progress at Golden Glory, but now it's time for us to part ways. One of the main reasons is that UFC no longer wants to work with that club no matter what," Stojnic revealed.
